 Space Is Special Inc.
Space Is Special Inc. was founded in 1989 and since that time has served several
thousand students in the Midwest. Students lives have been changed by their
experiences in the Space Is Special program that motivates the students to go beyond their
perceived capabilities.
Space Is Special is committed to motivating special needs and high-risk students to an
interest in mathematics, science and technology by providing "hands-on/minds-on"
learning experiences. The learning experiences utilize the Space Is Special science
skills.
The learning is conducted in an atmosphere to simulate real life experiences - teamwork,
leadership skills, listening and communications, decision making, priority setting and
career awareness.
Space Is Special works with U.S. Space Camp to offer a special Space Academy Program in
Huntsville, Alabama, in which the special needs students can participate with other
student groups from all over the world in exciting space challenges.
